"Listening to the Largo of Vivaldi's Double Cello Concerto, I began to think of images of labyrinths, mysterious spiraling paths that wind indirectly toward a central point. The Allegro, by contrast, brought to mind the idea of a maze: angular, tricky and full of surprises. I liked the ideas of "wending my way through the music" and worked with the dancers on a movement vocabulary that would carry us along these contrasting paths set forth by Vivaldi." - Gabrielle Lamb

"Moving to the unique musicality of Kodaly, three dancers experience an unexpected journey as they weave in and out of this work. Expansive movement, a vast range of tempi, and spontaneous onstage decisions keep the dancers on the tips of their toes as they learn the fate of their performance alongside members of the audience."
